Could Trey Lance Serve as a Covert Asset for Cowboys Against 49ers?

Could Trey Lance be the Cowboys’ secret weapon against the 49ers?

The Dallas Cowboys’ decision to trade for Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason is starting to make sense.

In Week 5, the undefeated 49ers will face the 3-1 Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football” in a matchup of two top NFC teams.

Dallas hopes that Trey Lance, the former 49ers quarterback, can provide valuable insights about his former team.

Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas’ offensive coordinator in his first season, was asked if he would seek Lance’s advice about the 49ers.

Schottenheimer acknowledged that Lance has some knowledge of their strategies but emphasized that they wouldn’t rely too heavily on it.

While Lance may offer some insights into the 49ers’ tactics and how they approached games against Dallas last season, the impact of this information might be exaggerated.

As seen in the recent Cowboys vs. Patriots game, knowing an opponent’s strategies doesn’t guarantee success.

Schottenheimer mentioned that even with inside knowledge, the Patriots couldn’t overcome the talented Cowboys.

It’s common for players to share information about their former teams with their new organizations, but the question remains whether Lance’s insights will truly benefit the Cowboys against the formidable 4-0 Niners.

And yes, the comment about the high price Dallas paid for Lance was made in jest.
