Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is not holding back his frustration with the officiating following the team’s recent 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

Parsons, a two-time All-Pro, expressed his discontent with the referees’ handling of the game, particularly emphasizing a play where he felt he was blatantly held by Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson. Venting his concerns on an episode of “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” the rising star called attention to what he perceived as inconsistent holding calls throughout the match.

The Cowboys defensive standout believes that the solution lies in having more referees on the field. In his candid remarks, Parsons argued, “I think at this point, we need to have more refs. There needs to be eyes everywhere. Because obviously, these calls are being missed in the game. I don’t know if the refs’ eyes are somewhere else. It’s too much going on. … These calls are crucial in games that just can’t be missed.”

Not content with merely pointing out the issues, Parsons offered an alternative approach to maintain consistency. He suggested that referees could adopt a more lenient stance, allowing players to “play through” holding calls unless they involve egregious violations.

During the contentious match between the Eagles and Cowboys, both teams were penalized 10 times each. However, the impact of these penalties differed, with the Eagles losing more yardage (98) compared to the Cowboys (83).

As the debate over officiating intensifies, Micah Parsons’ outspoken stance is sure to spark discussions about potential changes in the NFL’s approach to refereeing. The rising star’s call for more referees and a reevaluation of how holding calls are managed could reshape the ongoing conversation about fair play and officiating standards in professional football. #MicahParsons #NFLRefereeing #CowboysVsEagles
