Ahead of Sunday’s Week 10 clash with the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys defensive leader Micah Parsons made a bold proclamation about his offensive counterpart, Dak Prescott, on his podcast, “The Edge.”
“Open your eyes, people!” urged Parsons. “I think that Dak Prescott should be in the MVP conversation. If you’re looking at numbers, what he’s able to do, his efficiency, things like that, Dak Prescott is playing at an elite level.”
Prescott certainly lived up to the hype in the game against the Giants, as the Cowboys cruised to a dominating 49-17 victory. The quarterback completed 26 of 35 passes for 404 yards with four touchdowns (and one interception) and added a rushing touchdown to his impressive performance.
Adding another layer to the “Dak 4 MVP” case, Prescott’s odds to win MVP currently stand at +4000 at DraftKings Sportsbook. While not on par with Patrick Mahomes, Prescott finds himself in the mix with other dark-horse candidates like Tyreek Hill, Trevor Lawrence, and rookie sensation CJ Stroud.
Prescott’s statistics continue to climb, with the 400/4 phenomenon marking the fourth time he’s achieved this double-double, setting a Dallas franchise record and tying for the eighth-most occurrences in NFL history.
In Week 10, Prescott’s QBR of 97.2 was the best single-game rating by any quarterback in the NFL this season. Overall, he currently ranks third in the NFL in QBR with an impressive 72.5, trailing only Josh Allen and Brock Purdy.
Over the last four games, Prescott’s numbers are nothing short of extraordinary:
Touchdown passes: 12
Interceptions: two
Completion percentage: 72.1%
Yards per attempt (YPA): 9.7
Passer rating: 125.1
To cap it off, Prescott contributed two rushing touchdowns on 19 carries for 90 yards, contributing to the Cowboys’ 6-3 record.
Micah Parsons’ prediction that Prescott “needs to be talked about more” seems to be coming to fruition as Prescott continues to deliver stellar performances, solidifying his MVP-worthy campaign.
“I think he will prove that through the end of this year, winning some big games and leading us to the playoffs,” Parsons foresaw. Once again, Parsons’ prediction proved accurate, just as Prescott’s performance shone brightly on yet another Sunday.
